Protein bars are a convenient way to get your protein on the go but let’s be honest, most protein bars suck. A good percentage of protein bars on the market have a ton of sugar in them and that’s not good. For instance, a Clif Protein Bar contains 21 grams of sugar. 21 grams of sugar?!? You might as well eat a candy bar.
Over the past month, I have decided to broaden my horizons and try some new protein bars. Here are three protein bars that do not suck.
One / / OhYeah! Protein Bars
I came across these the other day when I was at Smoothie King. Seeing all the flavors left me skeptical because I’ve seen protein bars with many different flavors and they taste disgusting or they leave an icky aftertaste. I decided to give the birthday cake flavor a try and I absolutely loved it. These protein bars contain 20 grams of protein and 1 gram of sugar.
Personal Favorite: Birthday Cake
Two / / Quest Protein Bars
Oh Quest Protein Bars, the tried and true protein bars on the health market. Quest Protein Bars will always be my safe blanket. My favorite flavor is the strawberry cheesecake flavor. These bars contain 20 grams of protein and 2 grams of sugar.
Personal Favorite: Strawberry Cheesecake
Three / / Oatmega Protein Bars
I originally bought these bars for my mother, however, I ended up keeping them for myself. Out of all of the protein bars I tried, this one is the most delicious. These protein bars are made out of oatmeal and contain 14 grams of protein. These bars are also non-GMO and have omega-3’s. However, one downside to these bars is that it contains 5 grams of sugar.
Personal Favoriate: Vanilla Almond Crisp
Honorable Mentions:
I hope you guys try these protein bars out and enjoy them!
